In most cases, uninstalling Ecquire is super easy. Occasionally, things don’t go so smoothly when removing extensions from Chrome, so we’ve included three different ways to go about deleting Ecquire.
We recommend using the Easy and Moderate methods first and only step up to Difficult if you’re still having problems.
If you are unable to find your any old invoices from us that you can use to cancel your account you can send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll take care of any billing issues you may have.
Difficult (but you might learn something new!):
Rarely, should anyone have to follow this step. But, sometimes Chrome behaves strangely and you may have to.
If you’ve gone through the two steps above and are still receiving messages or seeing activity related to the Ecquire extension you’ll need to dig a bit deeper into your computer and erase files.
By default Chrome extensions and their folders can be found here:
To get to that folder you’ll need to head to Finder and then click Go in the top bar:
When the “Go to the folder” dialog box is open copy and paste:
into the dialog box.
This will open a folder filled with files and goodies that are attached to Google Chrome. It will, depending on your view settings, look something similar to this:
Once there you can search for Ecquire’s unique Extension ID number which is: blhkmpdhinjbdjgenhpkcnnbeaajcnkf
The easiest way to do this of course is to use the search bar in the top right corner and copy and paste the ID number there.
If you are able to find the folder using this method…
the next step is to delete it from your computer using command+delete or dragging it to your trash can.
When you have finished these steps close down and reopen your browser. Ecquire will be gone.
